Driving to Steamboat Springs:
From the East
The most scenic route from the East starts from I-25 @ Hwy 14 in Loveland, Co it takes about 4 1/2 hours but is well worth the extra hour. This route slowly climbs through the Rockies with very few steep inclines with the exception of Rabbit Ears which will need to be taken regardless of whether you take Hwy 14 or I-70. It also has a maximum speed limit in the mountains of 45 mph which is very manageable for any automobile.

The Fastest way coming from the East through Denver is I-70, it takes about 3 1/2 hours. The challenge is there are many steep inclines and traffic travels in access of 70 mph in many locations. This is not the recommended route for a car with a 144/170 engine and an automatic transmission.

Flying to Steamboat Springs:
There are two choice for flying to the Nationals:
Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) is located in Hayden, CO. It is approximately 26 miles from the Steamboat Grand (about 35 minutes), It hosts six major airlines: American, Continental, Delta/Northwest, United.
Denver International Airport hosts all major airlines. It is approximately 180 miles from the Steamboat Grand (about 3 1/2 hours).
Airport Shuttles:
Both airports are serviced by Go Alpine shuttle service.
